April hail showers!

The day started off beautifully. I enjoyed checking the progress of the Orange muscat vines in warm sunshine, marvelling at the 4 inches of growth, and baby flower clusters, they had grown in just one week - sunshine and warmth will do that. Then, at 4.30 pm, Mother Nature turned gangster! Hail the size of dimes, I swear I have never seen hail that big before. Thank goodness the vines aren't actually flowering yet otherwise they would have been battered to death!

We had that hail earlier this week, but we suffered inflation--not dime sized, quarters!

It's been so cool here, buds are nowhere to be seen.

Oh...I hate to think what quarter-size hail would have done to the 4 inch growth on the OM vines!

Bizarre - but by one of those strange coincidences, I remember going through a similar hailstorm on 6 April 2006....but that was in Tulsa!

Affer,

Nothing odd about it. You can count on a hailstorm in Tulsa every April 6, and 7, 8, 9...

Here it has been warm with hardly any rain for weeks.
