It's about time.

Finally, the beginning of veraison in Vinoland. I had actually noticed it yesterday but I was, erm, otherwise occupied.
The Pinot grigio is readying itself for harvest.
Thank you little grapies.

It will be well picked by the time you get here.
However, there will be plenty of Syrah and Cab to harvest when you are here.

what wine will these beauties become?

These little babies are Pinot gris.
The grapes will not get that much bigger but the skins will become a lot darker, almost brown, so it is easy to imagine them being made into the orange wine (with extended maceration) that you wrote about recently.

@Vinogirl you SO read my mind! They look so perfect for some skin contact. I wish everyone in the world could taste Dario Princic's Pinot Grigio: he macerates its so long that it looks like a Poulsard!
